Premier praises Trump’s role in the Gaza peace accord and South Asian stability, says millions of lives were saved through US mediation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday lauded the global peace efforts of US President Donald Trump, reiterating his call for awarding the American leader the Nobel Peace Prize for his pivotal role in promoting peace in the Middle East and South Asia.
Addressing the signing ceremony of the Gaza Peace Accord in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, the Prime Minister said the world was witnessing a historic moment following the tireless diplomatic efforts that led to peace in Gaza.
“After relentless efforts, we have succeeded in achieving peace in Gaza. Today is a momentous and historic day for the people of Gaza,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
The Prime Minister credited President Trump and his diplomatic team for preventing a potential large-scale conflict in South Asia, noting that their intervention had saved countless lives.
He said that Pakistan and India are both nuclear powers, adding that had President Trump and his remarkable team not intervened, the situation could have escalated within days.
“Thanks to his leadership, peace was restored and millions of lives were saved,” the prime minister remarked.
He added that Pakistan had nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his consistent efforts to promote global harmony.
“President Trump truly deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. He has worked tirelessly for peace and stability, and history will remember him in golden words,” Shehbaz Sharif said, emphasising that the world needed leadership with such vision and resolve.
